Tonique is a production & DJ duo from The Netherlands. Their music is electronic and unique. An EP of it, ‘Resonance’, was released in the USA on November 3rd through the Los Angeles label, YourEDM.
The EP didn’t only feature 4 of Tonique’s own original tunes but also a remix of female indie star, Feist singing ‘Comfort Me’. Yes, Tonique do remixes too, and already have under their belt a remix for European melodic house star Bakermat and a co-write and remix with legendary songwriter Diane Warren.
Tonique’s music could be called crossover club, mixing all kinds of electronic, dance, jazz, and groove influences. The result is unique – avant garde electronica, haunting yet impactive, with commercial overtones. Amongst artists from whom they take inspiration are Porter Robinson, Daft Punk, Groove Armada, Chemical Brothers, and Justice.
Behind Tonique are another production duo, The Prime, namely Nick ten Broeke and Thomas Nagel, both just 22. Their commercial work includes productions and remixes for American rappers, Busta Rhymes, and Jadakiss and multi awarded Dutch rapper Gers Pardoel.
The Prime has also produced a ‘derby song’ for Manchester United football club. Written especially for their match with Manchester City on November 2nd, debuted 1 November on Manchester United’s own TV channel, MUTV, with an audience outreach of 350 million.
Tonique is managed by management duo Björn de Water and Simon Napier-Bell (Wham!/ George Michael/ The Yardbirds, Boney M and others).
